AORUS Xtreme Showdown

Taipei, Taiwan, 3th August, 2020 – GIGABYTE TECHNOLOGY Co. Ltd. today announced AORUS Xtreme Showdown, a brand new series of online showmatches featuring well-known game streamers to battle against each other in the game of VALORANT, one of the hottest multiplayer shooters now. Esports fans and first-person shooter enthusiasts can certainly look forward to this competitive yet entertainment-filled series of showcase slated for this summer.

Partnered with Intel, the AORUS Xtreme Showdown will be inviting two popular game streamers and personalities each from Korea, China, USA, Germany, and France. Each streamer will serve as the captain to lead a team of five players and take on their rivaling team in a best-of-five VALORANT showdown. Players will not only duke it out for a total prize pool of US$10,000, they will also flight for a good cause as GIGABYTE AORUS will additionally donate US$10,000 to GlobalGiving’s Coronavirus Relief Fund to help stop COVID-19's spread. Fans can also be part of the GIGABYTE’s charity initiative by watching the showmatch and entering the global giveaway for a chance to win exciting prizes, including AORUS gaming monitors, graphics cards, and motherboards.

“With this year’s game shows all being canceled and people not being to attend these events due to the ongoing pandemic, we needed to find another way to connect with our fans,” said Eddie Lin, Executive Vice President of GIGABYTE’s AORUS Integrated Marketing Communications Team. “That is why we are putting together a unique gaming online event for our community to enjoy and experience together safely from home. At the same time, through our shared passion for playing and watching the game, we also wanted to bring awareness to the community of the current situation and fight against COVID-19 as one.”

The AORUS Xtreme Showdown will kick off starting August 22^nd in Korea, followed by China, USA, Germany, and France in the subsequent weeks.
