Resolution Switch is a recent addition to GIGABYTE's arsenal of tactical features for our OLED gaming monitor lineup. It caters specifically to gamers who crave a big screen for immersion but also need a focused view for competitive FPS gameplay.

Why Smaller Screens Shine in FPS Battles

Playing FPS games on expansive screens (over 27 inches) can have a few drawbacks:

Reduced situational awareness: The vast screen real estate makes it harder to track enemies quickly, especially on the periphery. 

Distraction overload: Smaller screens encourage focus on the central area where most of the action unfolds. On a big screen, the extra details can be distracting in the heat of FPS combat.

Another great thing about Resolution Switch is that we've made the transition very easy. With a flick of a switch using a physical button, you can change to the preferred settings in just a jiffy.

Make Switch at Your Fingertips

Resolution Switch can be activated with a dedicated button called Tactical Switch, conveniently located on the bottom of the screen, right next to the 5-way key.

Here's how it works:

1. A single press on the Tactical Switch button brings up the Resolution Switch.

2. A message pops up reminding you to close any full-screen applications to avoid disruptions.

3. Confirm with a press of the 5-way key. Within seconds, your display transforms into an FPS-optimized zone with a simulated 24-inch view and crisp Full HD resolution.

Fine-Tuning Your Experience

By default, the downsized image appears aligned to the bottom edge of the screen. However, you can customize this for optimal comfort:

1. With the Resolution Switch active, press the 5-way key to access the OSD menu.

2. Navigate to Game Assist and find Tactical Switch > Resolution Switch.

3. Choose the Location option to set your preferred alignment: Top, Center, or Bottom.

As an additional tip, you can bypass the reminder message by navigating to the Notice option and simply turning it off, thus saving you some precious seconds.
